In a dramatic finish at the Open de España, Marco Penge held his nerve to beat countryman Dan Brown in a sudden-death playoff, securing his third DP World Tour title of 2025.
Penge had entered the final day with a four-shot lead and, despite a one-over 72 in the closing round, saw Brown mount a late charge to force extra holes. On the first playoff hole, Penge birdied to clinch the title.
What makes the win even more significant is what it unlocked. The Spanish Open champion now earns an automatic invite to both The Masters and The Open Championship. Marco will now get his special Master's invite in the post by Christmas for the first time in his career.
The victory also propelled him up the Race to Dubai standings (he now sits second) and further raised his world ranking to World Number 31.
Well done Marco!
